3rd Post- How to Bake Carrot Cake


Here comes to the third post and I am going to share the knowledge of baking a carrot cake to everyone, hopefully you will like it and the info I provided will be useful to you. History shows that carrots have been used in sweet cakes since the medieval period. During that time sweeteners were scarce and expensive, while carrots which contain more sugar than any other vegetable besides the sugar beet, were much easier to come by and were used to make sweet desserts.

The carrot cakes became popular in Britain because of rationing during the Second World War. In the early 1960s, Carrot cakes have become common dessert that available in restaurants and cafeterias in the United States.


Ingredients:
180g self raising flour/all-purposed flour
¼ teaspoon soda powder
½ teaspoon baking powder
Half of ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
Half of ¼ teaspoon salt
100g icing white sugar, 50g brown sugar
3 eggs, separate the egg yolks and egg whites
180ml vegetable oil
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ teaspoon cream of tartar
85g chopped walnut
240g grated carrot

PROCESS:
1. Prepare self raising flour/all-purposed flour 180g.
2. Then, prepare baking powder of ½ teaspoon, soda powder ¼ teaspoons.
3. Prepare cinnamon powder half of ¼ teaspoon, a little bit salt half of a quarter as well.
4. Prepare icing white sugar 100g and brown sugar 50g.
5. Prepare 3 eggs and separate the egg yolks and egg whites. 180ml vegetable oil.
6. Prepare 1 teaspoons of vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon cream of tartar.
7. 85g of walnut. Preheat the walnut in oven to 170’c until the nut yellow/ brown in colour. When walnut is baked, then remove the skin of nut and breaks into small pieces.
8. Prepared carrots and peel it into smallest slices. Remember must squeeze the grated carrot to remove juice.
9. In a bowl, beat egg yolks with electric mixer in a medium speed. Add vanilla extract and follow by vegetable oil. Beat it for few mins.
10. Then add the combine flour and continue to beat until blended in low speed. Add grated carrot and stir together in a low speed.
11. In a large bowl, beat egg whites in high speed and slowly add icing sugar and brown sugar. Add cream of tartar, continue blend for few mins until stiff peak form, for which turn creamy.
12. In same bowl, mix grated carrot batter and lastly add walnut pieces, then mix it gently with spatula until blended.
13. Pour the batter into baking pan. Put into oven for baking at 175’c for around 40 mins.
14. Remove the cake from oven and tested the cake with toothpick, if result comes out is clean mean the cake is done put in one side to let it cool. After cooling, with the using of sharp knife, cut around the cake and remove from pan. Then, serve and enjoy.


As for conclusion, I hope everyone will like to eat carrot cakes as carrot cakes benefit for us, for our health, because carrot is good for vision, our eyes. Other than that, carrot cake can consider a healthy cake that you can serve as diet desserts. This is recommended to diet people especially for females who wish to consume sweet desserts without substances of high fats and calories.
